About LSR Program
Information about LSR and applying to LSR is available on the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce website http://www.santarosachamber.com/ Because the Chamber changes their website around we can not provide an exact link. Applications for the program are made available in February and due in April. The program runs the academic year August through May. The Chamber phone number is 707.545.1414 for more information and exact dates.
A steering committee made up of graduates and chamber staff guides the program to offer up-to-date topics. The current program days include:
• Business & Economy: Starting and growing a business in Sonoma County, and how the economy impacts local business.
• Government: Roles and interaction of local governments.
• Public Safety: Understand what agencies and systems are in place to protect our community.
• Health & Human Services: Increase awareness of current issues in health care and human services throughout Sonoma County.
• Natural Resources: Environmental issues, water, land use.
• Agriculture: Explore the emerging trends, challenges and diversity of Sonoma County Agriculture.
• Media Marketing: Effective communication; the role and responsibility of the media.
• Education: Curriculum development, the role of technology, ethnic considerations, funding.
• Planning & Development: Urban growth boundaries, planning and development concepts.
• Hospitality & Tourism: Overview of hospitality and tourism in Sonoma County and what is being done to encourage tourism.
• Green Issues & Opportunities: Evaluate use of natural resources and waste disposal.
